| altre informazioni | The subject of hyperbolic partial differential equations is enormous. This course will introduce this subject. The goal is to introduce several methods and to push them to the point that they reveal nontrivial and sometimes surprising results. In this way one can be at the same time introductory assuming no special knowlege of hyperbolic PDE and at the same time obtain results that will be new even to people who have more experience. Some topics will be chosen from my Springer PDE book, some from my online book on hyperbolic pde, some from research papers, and some will be created on the spot. Student discussion will be encouraged (often unsuccessfully). Prerequisites. The language of Fourier Transforms, distributions, and Sobolev spaces will be assumed. |
