PROGRAMME   IN  PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS and RELATED TOPICS
Department of Mathematics,  University of Pisa,  2-26 May 2000

Scope    Minicourses     Seminars    Workshop

Scope

The scope of the meeting is to bring together specialists and young research workers to discuss various problems of research interest, theoretical, numerical and applicative, in the field of partial differential equations with particular attention to the methods used in linear and nonlinear hyperbolic problems and related questions. Some of the topics proposed to be discussed are:

Methods of linear and nonlinear  microlocal analysis; Applications to well posedness in Gevrey classes; Carleman estimates and unique continuation; Uniqueness in Cauchy problem; Local solvability; Weakly hyperbolic equations; Controllability of pde's; Symmetrisability and generalized Levi conditions for hyperbolic systems; Blow up of solutions to nonlinear equations and related arguments.

These lecture courses and seminars are addressed not only to the specialists but also to graduate students and young researchers.
