Post-doc positions

The following two post-doc positions are funded by the italian FIRB project Geometry and topology of low-dimensional manifolds coordinated by Francesco Bonsante, Gabriele Mondello and myself.

We have concluded the selection for the following post-doc position; the results are written on the official page (click on "approvazione atti").

  • Institution: Università di Pisa, Department of Mathematics
  • Position: post-doctoral, 36 months, starting before end 2012
  • Subject area: Mathematics - Geometry
  • Location: Università di Pisa
  • Teaching load: no teaching load required (occasionally, mini-courses on specific topics on voluntary basis will be appreciated)
  • Salary: 35.000 euros per year (gross).
  • Funding: FIRB grant Geometry and topology of low-dimensional manifolds
  • Contacts: Bruno Martelli
The successful applicant is expected to work on the themes of our FIRB project, namely geometry and topology, with specific emphasis on 3-manifolds, hyperbolic geometry, and quantum invariants. The main duty will consist of active participation to the scientific life of the department.

NEW! The application time for the following position is not open. See the instructions there and the official page.

The successful applicant is expected to work on the themes of our FIRB project, namely geometry and topology, with specific emphasis on Teichmuller theory, Riemann surfaces, geometric structures, anti-de Sitter and hyperbolic geometry. The main duty will consist of active participation to the scientific life of the departments. The successful applicant is expected to collaborate both with the departments of Roma and Pavia.
