{"id":630,"date":"2022-02-04T22:26:07","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T21:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dm.unipi.it\/didattica\/masters-degree\/programmes-of-study-masters-degree\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T12:02:59","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T11:02:59","slug":"study-plan","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dm.unipi.it\/didattica\/en\/masters-degree\/study-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Study Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><p data-start=\"79\" data-end=\"421\"><strong data-start=\"79\" data-end=\"167\">Each student is required to submit their study plan by November 30 of the first year<\/strong> (or within one month of enrollment, if this occurs after that date).<br data-start=\"236\" data-end=\"239\"\/>To prepare their personal study plan, students must use the <a href=\"https:\/\/caps.dm.unipi.it\/dashboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-start=\"299\" data-end=\"317\">CAPS interface<\/strong><\/a>, accessible with their university credentials. The plan will then be evaluated by the Career Committee.&#13;\nA study plan may be submitted multiple times during the academic career, but submissions are allowed <strong data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"588\">only within the following three windows of the academic year:<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1 September &#8211; 30 November;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 February &#8211; 31 March<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 June &#8211; 30 June.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Any study plan submitted outside these periods will remain pending and will be evaluated during the next available submission window. In urgent or exceptional cases, students may request early evaluation from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dm.unipi.it\/didattica\/en\/collegial-bodies-and-minutes\/\" rel=\"noopener\">President of the Degree Programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Committee also requires that study plans be countersigned through CAPS (after submitting the study plan in CAPS, use the \u201crequest review\u201d button) by one Bigi<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>If the study plan does not fall under any curriculum, or in other special cases, it may also be countersigned by the Chair of the Joint Board of Study Programs.<br data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1719\"\/>If a student wishes to submit a <strong data-start=\"1751\" data-end=\"1779\">free (custom) study plan<\/strong>, they must email <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dm.unipi.it\/didattica\/en\/collegial-bodies-and-minutes\/\">the President of the Study Programmes<\/a> explaining the reasons for the request.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Master\u2019s Degree Program in Mathematics is organized into five curricula:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Applied<\/strong> Curriculum;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Educational <\/strong>Curriculum;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>General <\/strong>Curriculum;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Modelling <\/strong>Curriculum;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Theoretical\u00a0<\/strong>Curriculum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Curriculum selection takes place when submitting the study plan.<\/p>\n\n<p>To modify an already approved study plan, it is sufficient to submit a new one.<br data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2305\"\/>Similarly, if a student wishes to change their curriculum, they may simply submit a new study plan with the updated curriculum.<br data-start=\"2432\" data-end=\"2435\"\/>Changes to the study plan and curriculum take effect <strong data-start=\"2488\" data-end=\"2517\">immediately upon approval<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>New study plans must, however, be submitted well in advance of the intended graduation date.<\/p>\n\n<p>The valid study plan is always the latest submitted and approved.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong data-start=\"2685\" data-end=\"2699\">IMPORTANT:<\/strong> It is essential to select the option corresponding to one\u2019s own year of enrollment.<br data-start=\"2783\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s graduates in Mathematics from the University of Pisa who enroll in the Master\u2019s Degree from A.Y. 2022\/23 onward and choose the Theoretical Curriculum must take at least one MAT\/01 (Logic) exam during their five-year academic path (Bachelor\u2019s + Master\u2019s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students enrolling in the Master\u2019s from A.Y. 2022\/23 onward who choose the Didactic Curriculum, and select a theoretical institution in the IstAppTeor group, must include in their study plan at least one 6-credit applied exam (MAT\/06\/07\/08\/09).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Bachelor\u2019s graduates in Mathematics from Pisa enrolling in the Master\u2019s from A.Y. 2022\/23, the following exams are required (unless already included in the Bachelor\u2019s study plan):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For students choosing any curriculum other than Applied, three exams chosen from:\n<ul
