M1 - Collection of best practices. The milestone gives a collection of best practices from partners doctoral education . The collected materials will include: brief description of the structure of courses and e-courses of partner PhD programs, analysis of possible missing units, research topics of PhD advisors ready to collaborate the project as well brief description of possible employer engagement approaches or consultancy activities of partners institutions.

M2 - Report on common administration of Doctorates. This milestone gives the basis of administration of the Doctorate. The goal is to extend or improve the Bilateral/joint agreement/agreements, create a Supervisory Board(SB), Executive Board(EB) and Selection Committee (SeC). This step will allow to start the selection of ESR. Mobility strategy has to be prepared too.

M3 - Recruitment and selection of ESR. Typically, the partners of 5 EU caountries and 1 AEU country are involved in Interdisciplinary network formed by Mathematics and Medical institutions. The calls of ESR are distributed in such a way that the total amount of 540 person – months is planned in such a way that the initial recruitment will cover 12 PhD positions each of 36 months. In this way each of the countries will have 2 PhD Positions for 36 months. The remaining part of 108 months is left for secondments.

M4 - Training courses. The courses present a flexible framework for high-level training of researchers in mathematical models in Biology and Medicine, with particular attention to the latest analytical and computational techniques.

M5 - Training schools. Periodic schools with minicourses will be organized. The topics of mini - courses are focused on topics closer to the research domain of main working groups of the project. Typically, one of the lecturers of the schools is an established visiting scientists and at least one of the lecturers will be a member of the Supervisory Board.

M6 - Research reports and competences check - points . The ESR will have periodic discussions with their supervisors. Fellows will also deliver periodic progress reports followed by an oral seminar and an interview with the supervisors in charge of their training and the external evaluator . Summary evaluation report of the advisors are included too.

M7 - Collaboration and mobility. ESR fellows will spend at least two months of their training in performing research work, related to their personal research programme, in one or more of the other partners institutions. They will give oral seminars there. Annual reports of will serve to assess progress.

M8 - Seminars and conferences . The PhD students and researchers involved in research projects of the Workpackage 5 are expected to give seminars at workshops, conferences. Periodic reports shall be performed.

M9. Organization of Workshops and final network conference. There will be 3 workshops and Final Network Conference, where young researchers can present their result and meet other researchers in their field of interest.

M10 - PhD theses. PhD students are required to organize their research results in the form of a PhD thesis and to discuss them with the Supervisory Board. This discussion can be organized before the official discussion at the competent University or can be combined with the official discussion.

M11 - Management meetings

Kick - off meeting (Month 4) During the meeting the collection of best practices shall be reported, and common administration of Doctorates will be prepared. Fix admis s ion criteria. And create a Supervisory Board(SB), Executive Board(EB) and Selection Committee (SeC). Mobility strategy has to be prepared too. Plan for courses and organization of the work on research projects. Web page preparation.

Correlation meeting (Month 13): reports on initial recruitment, initial development of courses, reports of research working groups of their progress, planning the work on research projects and preparation of PhD theses, preparation of school with workshop. Plan for dissemination.

Intermediate management meeting (Month 20) reports on courses, reports of research working groups of their progress and the preparation of PhD theses , planning the work on research projects, preparation of school with workshop. Research reports and competences check – points. Report and Plan for further dissemination.

Feedback management meeting (Month 29) : discussions on evaluation reports of external experts, reports on courses and school, reports of research working groups of their progress and the preparation of PhD theses , reports on feedback of the research result from Medical partners, planning the work on research projects, possible stages at Medical and non Academic institutions and improvement of employability prospects of PhD students , preparation of school with workshop. Research reports and competences check – points. Plan for secondments. Report and Plan for further dissemination.

Reporting meeting (Month 40) reports on courses and school, reports of research working groups of their progress, reports on finished PhD theses, planning the work on research projects, feedback of the research result from Medical partners, planning the work on research projects, possible stages at Medical and non Academic institutions and improvement of employability prospects of PhD students preparation of Final network conference. Research reports and competences check - points. Report and Plan for further dissemination. Discussion on the final web page.

Final management meeting.(Month 48) : discussions on evaluation reports of external experts, reports on school, report on finished PhD theses, work of secondemnents ESRs, competences check – points, final reports of research working groups of their results and publications, feedback of the research result from Medical partners, reports on improvement of employability prospects of PhD students , planning the final report. Possibilities for further dissemination.

M12. WEB homepage. The project website will be set up at the beginning of the project (containing information about the project, the workplan, and the partners). It will be available in EN. It will be hosted and administered by partner …... The website will be kept online and running after the lifetime of the project. As it is considered the main source for the materials, partners will distribute the link as wide as possible, both directly to members of the target groups and their organizations.

M13. Evaluation. Competences check - points of PhD and secondments ESRs shall be done by advisors. The reports shall be presented on the management meetings of 20 th , 29 th , 40 th and 48 th month. External experts ( one from non Academic Institution and one established specialist in the field of mathematical models in Biology and Medicine) will provide mid-term and final evaluation reports

M14.- Intermediate and final reports of the project. Mid-term and final summing up of the activities during the project, research results, career development and implementation of the results.
