The 2026 Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences, one of the most prestigious international awards in the field, has been awarded to Camillo De Lellis, Professor at the Gran Sasso Science Institute and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
The prize recognizes his fundamental contributions to the application of advanced analytical techniques to the study of singularities in geometric measure theory and fluid dynamics.
Camillo De Lellis studied at the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore, graduating in Mathematics from our Department in 1999. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of our Department’s 2023–2027 Department of Excellence project.
