This page contains some information for new hires (Ph.D. students, employees, postdoctoral fellows, etc.) to help them understand how to take their first steps within the UniPi administration.
What to do upon arrival
Step 1: Obtain university credentials
These are normally provided by ICT shortly after hiring. If not, you can send an email to credenziali@unipi.it.
Step 2: Activate your Department badge
To enter the Department outside opening hours, and to access “Aula 3”, “Aula 4”, and the “Centro di Calcolo” rooms, it is necessary to request activation of your card for access to the administrative offices.
Step 3: Add your publications to the ARPI database
All scientific works (including those produced before hiring) must be entered into the ARPI database.
The login credentials are the same as the university ones. If you are unable to access your profile, you need to request account activation by writing to arpi@unipi.it.
Step 4: Customize your information on Unimap
Unimap pages contain information about each staff member: office, phone number, website, etc. They also include teaching-related information: course records, office hours, etc.
Information must be entered and/or updated through the login page.
Step 5: Request your phone number
Request your phone number from the administrative staff of the offices.
Step 6: Customize your personal profile on the Department website
After logging in for the first time to the Department database via the relative login page, edit your profile by accessing it from the top-right menu.
You can add your Google Scholar, ORCID, etc. (just enter the ID codes, not the full URL), a photo, your phone number, and more.
Step 7: Information about your research on the Department website
Visit the Research subsite, go to the section dedicated to research group pages, find your group, check that you are listed among the staff, and send any additions or corrections t help@dm.unipi.it.
