Professor Mario Salvetti has received the prestigious 2025 Frontiers of Science Award (FSA) in Mathematics, granted by the International Congress of Basic Sciences (ICBS). The award recognizes the paper Proof of the K(π,1) conjecture for affine Artin groups, written in collaboration with Giovanni Paolini.
Established in 2023, the Frontiers of Science Award celebrates the most innovative and significant scientific contributions in mathematics, physics, and computer science. The prize is awarded to research works that have represented a fundamental advancement in their respective fields.
The award ceremony will take place in July 2025 in Beijing, as part of the International Congress of Basic Sciences, with the participation of prominent figures from the international scientific community.
