Part-time Collaborations at the Museum of Computing Instruments

The Museum of Computing Instruments is looking for collaborators among students in STEM fields. The MSC is a museum of the University of Pisa dedicated to the history of computing, hosting historical pieces such as the first Italian computer, the CEP. Currently, the museum is located at the temporary exhibition “Hello World!” in the Le Benedettine center of the University of Pisa. The museum offers guided tours and hands-on activities for schools. For undergraduate students, the easiest way to collaborate is through part-time student work programmes (the so-called “150 hours”): the regular call for applications available here (deadline: February 17) includes some positions for working with the University Museum System. For those who already hold a degree, other opportunities are available: occasional collaborations for individual visits or the possibility of signing a short-term collaboration contract (occasional work or co.co.co.) for the coming months. This would be a more continuous commitment, requiring 2-3 days per week, involving not only school visits but also assisting in the setup for the reopening of the museum’s permanent location.
