Celebrating the Bicentenary of Enrico Betti’s Birth

The Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Scuola Normale and with the support of the Caript Foundation of Pistoia and Pescia, have organized a series of events to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of Enrico Betti, the cornerstone of Pisan mathematical school.

On the upcoming 19th of October, a conference titled “Betti: Scientific and Civic Commitment” will take place in Pistoia at the Caript Foundation. The following day, the 20th of October, a conference entitled “Betti’s Mathematical Work: Past and Present” will be held in Pisa at the Carovana Palace.

Additionally, two exhibitions have been set up, one in Pistoia and another in Pisa, showcasing archival documents and illustrative material depicting Betti’s life and work.
