We are pleased to announce that Professor Ettore Minguzzi has recently been awarded the prestigious 2024 Frontiers of Science Award (FSA) in Mathematics, conferred by the International Congress of Basic Sciences (ICBS). The award recognizes the paper “Surface gravity of compact non-degenerate horizons under the dominant energy condition”, co-authored with Sebastian Gurriaran from Sorbonne Université in Paris.
The Frontiers of Science Award, established in 2023, celebrates the most significant and innovative scientific contributions in mathematics, physics, and computer science. For the 2024 edition, research articles—both theoretical and applied—were selected in 44 areas of basic sciences. The awarded papers were acknowledged for making fundamental advancements in their respective fields of study.
The award was presented to Professor Minguzzi during an official ceremony in July 2024 in Beijing, attended by over 1,000 participants, including 5 Fields Medalists, 3 Turing Award winners, and a Nobel Laureate, as well as prominent representatives of the international scientific community.
