PLEASE NOTE Below is a description of the pre-enrolment procedure for the Master’s Degree, reserved for students who obtain their Bachelor’s degree at the University of Pisa between January and the end of July (i.e. after the closing of enrolment for the Master’s Degree in the current academic year and before the opening of enrolment for the following academic year).
Since this procedure is managed by the Student Administration Offices of the University of Pisa, students are advised to verify it on the official university website. Changes may occur that are not yet reflected on this page.
1) Request for pre-enrolment in LM-40
Students who obtain their L-35 Bachelor’s degree at the University of Pisa between January and the end of July (i.e. after enrolment closes for the current academic year and before enrolment opens for the next academic year) may request pre-enrolment in the Master’s Degree in Mathematics exclusively during the online graduation application process.
2) Enrolment in “Transition Single Courses”
Students are then enrolled in the “Transition Single Courses” and must continue paying tuition fees (the same fees applied to the Bachelor’s Degree programme).
It is possible to attend Master’s courses and take the related exams.
At this stage, it is not required to submit the Master’s study plan through the CAPS interface, because students are not yet formally enrolled in the Master’s Degree.
However, it is possible to request guidance regarding the Master’s curriculum by contacting the Chair of the Joint Council of Study Programmes or the professors responsible for the cultural areas.
3) Enrolment in the Master’s Degree
Between the end of July (when applications for enrolment for the new academic year open) and the end of December/beginning of January (when enrolment closes), students must complete their official enrolment in the Master’s Degree by paying the first tuition instalment or submitting documentation that grants exemption, even temporary, from payment.
Exams passed during enrolment in the transition courses will then be transferred to the Master’s academic record by the Student Administration Office (after enrolment in the Master’s Degree has been finalized and tuition payments are in order).
It is essential to always remain up to date with tuition payments.
After completing formal enrolment in the Master’s Degree, students must submit their study plan through the CAPS interface, following the instructions provided on the designated webpage.
WARNING Students who obtained their Bachelor’s degree between January and the end of July but did not submit the pre-enrolment request during the online graduation application process (see point 1) will have to wait for the opening of enrolment for Master’s Degree programmes in the new academic year and submit a standard enrolment application.
