This page provides information on the deadlines and requirements that must be met in order to obtain the degree.
Before proceeding, you must first consult the instructions available on the University Student Office website (in particular, check the document “Final degree examination calendars”).
You should also refer to the following page containing useful information for students completing the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics at the University of Pisa between January and July.
The procedure for determining the final degree grade can be found in the relevant section of the Curriculum Framework for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme.
Note 1. Please remember that no exams can be recorded during the 15 days prior to the thesis defense, not even for early enrollment in the Master’s program (any such registrations will be cancelled).
Note 2. Below, “Teaching Office” refers to the Teaching Office of the Department of Mathematics, while “Student Office” refers to the central University Student Office.
At least 30 days before the beginning of the graduation session
- Online, for the Student Office: submit your application through the Alice portal.
Download from the CAPS portal your most recently approved (and therefore valid) study plan, and send it to patrizia.lenzi@unipi.it.
NOTE: Do not send the study plan to Patrizia Lenzi if it is still awaiting approval; in that case, write instead to segdid@dm.unipi.it for information regarding the approval process. Online, for the Teaching Office: submit your application through the CAPS interface. Log in with your university credentials, then, in the left-hand menu, select Moduli (Forms) and choose Laurea Triennale: domanda di esame finale (Bachelor’s Degree: final exam application).
You will be asked to enter some information and to upload two documents: the thesis abstract and the receipt confirming completion of the graduation evaluation questionnaire.
At least 15 days before the beginning of the graduation session
- Student Office: upload the following documents through the Alice portal:
- the receipt confirming completion of the graduation evaluation questionnaire.
Note: Since this requirement concerns the central University Student Office, please verify it directly on their website, as procedures may change before this page is updated.
For questions or issues, contact patrizia.lenzi@unipi.it (Mathematics contact person at the Student Office).
- the receipt confirming completion of the graduation evaluation questionnaire.
At least 3 days before the beginning of the graduation session
- Send a PDF copy of your thesis by email to the chair of the examination committee (graduates will receive detailed instructions).
IMPORTANT NOTE: if you decide not to present your thesis in the session for which you applied, it is essential to immediately cancel your graduation application through the Alice portal and notify both offices:
-Up to 15 days before the beginning of the session:
cancel the application via Alice and send an email notifying your withdrawal to patrizia.lenzi@unipi.it and segdid@dm.unipi.it.
-After that deadline: withdrawal must be communicated by email to both patrizia.lenzi@unipi.it and segdid@dm.unipi.it.
You will then need to repeat the entire procedure (graduation application and upload of required documents) in order to graduate in a later session.
