How to enrol
For more info on procedures and deadlines with regards to:
- first enrollment (matriculation);
- enrollment in subsequent years;
- transfer to or from other universities;
- change to or from other degree programs;
- recognition/reconciliation of previous university studies;

For information regarding admission to the Master’s Degree Program in Mathematics, students should contact the Teaching Office of the Department of Mathematics, specifically Chiara Luzzati. Students who obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics at the University of Pisa between January and July can find further information at the following link.
Admission Requirements
To enroll in the Master’s Degree Program in Mathematics, a student must satisfy at least one of the following curricular requirements:
- hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the Italian Degree Class L-35 (Mathematical Sciences), or a Bachelor’s Degree under Law 509/99 in Class 32 (Mathematical Sciences);
- hold a Bachelor’s Degree in another class and have obtained at least 30 ECTS credits in MAT/* subject areas;
- hold a Specialist Degree not belonging to Class 45/S, or a Master’s Degree not belonging to Class LM-40, having obtained at least 30 ECTS credits in MAT/* subject areas;
- hold a three-year Diploma or a four-year Degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science;
- hold a foreign qualification recognized as suitable by the Degree Program Council.
In addition, the Degree Program Council conducts an assessment of the candidate’s personal preparation for students who meet the curricular requirements and submit an application. The assessment procedures are detailed in the Master’s Degree Course Curriculum Framework.
Students who do not have B2 English proficiency upon entry must certify that they have achieved at least B2 level English proficiency before graduating (e.g., passing the B2 language qualification at the CLI; or obtaining a B2 or higher certificate from an accredited language certification body).
