Integral Simplicial Volume and Delta Complexity: find the differences – Federica Bertolotti (SNS Pisa)

Venue

Abstract

Integral Simplicial Volume and Delta Complexity are invariants that try to capture the complexity of manifolds in terms of simplices from two different points of view. The exact value of these two invariants is known in dimensions 1 and 2, where they always coincide. It is then a natural question whether these two invariants are still close to each other in higher dimensions.
During this talk, we will see possible approaches to address this problem, even with the awareness that computations become very hard already in dimension 3.
